Christina Aguilera received the honor of the "Spirit of Hope Award" at the 2022 Latin Billboard Awards show this weekend. She attended the event held in the Watsco Center in Corey Gables, Florida, in a custom-made red lace dress.

Later, the 41-year-old changed into a figure-hugging black dress for her honorary performance before accepting her award. Aguilera, who's of Latin origin, returned to her roots early this year by releasing music in her native language for the first time in 20 years.

Aguilera entered the event backstage in a red lace dress and pantaboots custom-made by Buerlangma. The dress had a low-cut U-neckline showing her cleavage with a corset catsuit worn underneath the mesh lace. Her skintight sleeves were see-through lace and flowed into a long cape, while her skirt had a ruched thigh-high slit.

The La Luz singer paired her dress with a sleek blonde braided pigtail and silver jewelry pieces.

Aguilera performed a medley of her ranchera song, La Reina, which was a reply to the legendary singer Vincente Fernandez's El Rey. The song is now Grammy-nominated since it's part of her three-part self-titled Album.

She wore a skintight black dress with a mermaid skirt, long-sleeve, and a plunging neckline. Aguilera didn't restyle her hair and kept her silver jewelry pieces for the performance.

Aguilera received her award from Latin singers Ozuna and Becky G, "humbly, with gratitude and pride." Her remaining speech said,

"It's so nice to be in a room where they can say my name correctly and beautifully. Thank you so much, Billboard, for this award. To my Sony team, you guys are amazing, I couldn't be more thankful."

She continued explaining that,

"When [she] entered the industry, [she] promised [herself] 'I'd use my voice for something deeper to make change. Sharing my story was vital in helping others.'"

Aguilera also earned several Latin Grammy nominations for her self-titled album Aguilera. The singer joined a short list of nominees with several nods in one night as she nabbed seven, including big ones - Album of the Year, Record & Song of the Year for Pas Mis Muchachas, Best Urban Fusion/Performance for Santo & Pas Mis Muchachas, and Best Regional Mexican Song for Cuando Me De La Gana. A win in any of the categories will add to her short list of Latin Grammy Awards, which she won for Mi Reflejo in 2000.
