Jessica Biel’s Intense Core Routine For Strong Abs

Jessica Biel is famous for, among many other things, her incredibly toned physique, her athleticism, and her husband, Justin Timberlake. She showed off all three in a video she posted to her Instagram in December 2021.

The 40-year-old Candy actress demoed a grueling ab exercise routine alongside the best workout partner – her husband – and it’s easy to see from the clip why the A-list duo have such amazing bodies and an equally admirable bond between them.

She’s Always Been Athletic

While everyone knows that Biel has one of the best bodies in Hollywood, some might not be aware that her athleticism goes way back to childhood. As a kid, she was into gymnastics and soccer and also took up dancing, including tap, ballet, and jazz.

She told ESPN, “As an actor, I am very comfortable with my body, which comes from sports…I'm aware of how my muscles feel, what it feels like when anything changes. Playing sports and being physical helps me maintain that sort of relationship with my own body.”

Joint Core Workout With Hubby

Proof of the Total Recall star’s athletic prowess can be seen from the workout videos she posts on her page. Before 2021 ended, she and Timberlake shared a clip – captioned “Swolemates. See you in 2022 🙌🏻" – in which they’re doing a core workout so intense it leaves one breathless just from watching.

Their routine includes plank walk-ups, plank hip dips, plank shoulder-taps, and a forearm side plank made even more difficult with the addition of knee drives. Watch the vid below.

They’re Both Workout Enthusiasts

Biel loves to exercise whether she’s alone or with a partner, but she said in an interview with Self back in 2018 that the latter is always better.

“I actually love mommy-daddy workouts, they’re the best,” the actress said. “It doesn’t always happen, but it’s so nice to have a partner when you’re doing a workout. It’s something my husband and I really enjoy doing together—we both are workout enthusiasts. When we can, we make it happen.”

Circuit Training

Aside from their challenging core exercise, Biel and Timberlake like to do circuit training. She told Self, “We’ll work with a trainer and just do different circuits and do different types of cardio training or sprinting, just different things depending on what we’re working on and goals we’re trying to hit at the time.”
