The CEO of MyPillow Mike Lindell was banned from Twitter in January last year, after promoting conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election.
A staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump, Lindell still claims Democrat Joe Biden won the presidency thanks to widespread voting fraud.
Lindell rejoined Twitter on Sunday, only to be banned hours later.
"Hello everybody, I'M BACK ON TWITTER. My only account is @MikeJLindell! Please RT and FOLLOW to SPREAD THE WORD," Lindell wrote in his first post on the new account, per Newsweek.
Lindell included a video with the tweet, as to verify his identity.
"So we started this account. Please share it with everyone you know. Let everybody you know--so we can get the word out over here at Twitter in case they do take it down. And thanks a lot for helping out," he said.
The video clip was published at 1:25 p.m. ET. In just five minutes, more than 20,000 users followed Lindell's new account. And, in a few hours, his following grew to 37,000.
But that did not last long. Shortly after 5:00 p.m. ET, Lindell's new account was banned and permanently removed from the platform.
A spokesperson for Twitter explained to Newsweek that the pillow magnate violated the platform's rules on ban evasion, and therefore had to be banned again.
In a statement supplied to Business Insider, Lindell explained that Twitter did not give him a reason for the ban, which he described as a "shame."
The pillow magnate then slammed Jack Dorsey, the co-founder and former CEO of Twitter.
"We need to melt down the voting machines and turn them into prison bars. Jack Dorsey should be first in line for prison!" Lindell said.
The businessman added that he made a new Twitter account "to let the public know that none of the fake Mike Lindell accounts on Twitter are mine."
Lindell's return -- and ban -- took place just days after Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, bought Twitter for $44 billion.
Unlike Twitter's previous owners, Musk is a self-described free speech absolutist, so the purchase was welcomed by right-leaning individuals, who have long claimed that social media sites are biased against conservatives.
Even Trump welcomed the change of ownership, describing Musk as a "good man" and saying he expects the Tesla founder to "make improvements."
However, Trump stressed he would not be coming back to Twitter.
The platform's rules still haven't changed, so it's no surprise Lindell was banned.
